ORIGIN: The Sportfund Foundation is based on thirty years of experience in context of paralympic sport; this vast experience in the sector is strengthened by the personal commitment of its executive director and board members who are sports instructors with experience in the disability sector.
AIM: Through an extensive yearly schedule of practical activities and the training of people who specialise in teaching people with disabilities, the project intends to provide sporting activities for a large number of children, teenagers and adults with disabilities. A course focusing on independence and psychophysical growth is planned to accompany athletic advancement. A specific course will be dedicated to the inclusion of children with serious family difficulties, who will be integrated into the activities with children their own age who live in the same areas of the city. The project provides for the involvement of two schools in the province of Bologna, so as to keep children with disabilities together with their classmates and thus carry out an educational programme that involves broad groups of children, together with their teachers, parents and educators. Furthermore, new specialists will be trained and prepared in looking after people with disabilities so that the sport project can be considerably expanded throughout the whole area where the project will be implemented.

FORMAT: The practical activities will be carried out in the following disciplines: – climbing – Nordic walking – football – basic psychomotor education – horse riding – various recreational activities teaching motor skills aimed at free play and the enrichment of psychophysical abilities and motor patterns.
