ORIGIN: Laboratorio 0246 was created following the success of the Primo Sport 0246 playgrounds, a concept of educational play areas constructed at La Ghirada Sports Centre under the supervision of the staff at the Research Centre into Motor Development in Infants at the University of Verona, studying the effects these can have on young children and dividing them into the areas of activity (dexterity, mobility, balance and association) which represent a child’s very first development needs in terms of motor-sensory growth.
AIM: The objective is to educate teachers through a training programme supported by various manuals (based on international scientific research), in order to create a structured interactive motion game with proven benefits to the health and physical, psychological and cognitive development of the children involved, leading to proven academic success. Motor skills are what enable children to learn to move well, play freely and actively and prepare the body for the skills required for everyday life.
SCOPE: A social integration project for the education of young children.
FORMAT: Teachers at the primary schools will be offered Free Training aimed at developing structured games in the school through the use of two educational manuals. The first manual “Promoting motor activity in 3-6 year olds” focuses mainly on motor development, while the second manual, “Physical activity and executive functions in primary school”, centres on activities that develop motor skills and promote cognitive development, of executive functions in particular. This training is part of the Parco Primo Sport 0246 project in San Lazzaro di Savena, which is open free of charge every day.
